Providing consumer-related information on the ACAP website

The ACAP website serves as a portal to the consumer awareness pages of member businesses, with gathered links and information, including an introduction to ACAP activities, news releases, and study reports.

Distribution of materials to raise consumer awareness

In cooperation with organizations including the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan and local governments, ACAP exhibits and distributes educational materials for consumers prepared by member businesses and ACAP itself in permanent ACAP exhibits at 19 consumer centers located across Japan. These materials provide information useful for everyday life, including questions and answers on products and services, comfort and safety, the environment, and ways of living. It also holds mini-consumer awareness exhibits across Japan in cooperation with consumer awareness exhibits and events organized by national and local governments and other parties.

Holding ACAP courses for consumer affairs specialists

ACAP holds courses for consumer affairs specialists at consumer centers to provide basic information on products and services.

These courses provide lectures on providing consumer advice, including topics such as the structures of products and the nature of services, safe usage and handling, and coping with issues.

Consumer awareness course held at university

In response to requests from universities or administrative agencies such as consumer centers, ACAP provides on-demand courses and dispatches lecturers to provide training and education on the topics of consumer education and consumer-related issues for ordinary consumers.

Seeking advice on consumer issues

Since 1985, ACAP has sought advice on consumer issues through its “Watashi no Teigen” (“My Advice”) program.

It receives numerous submissions each year, with the most outstanding recognized by the Minister of State’s Prize.
