3. Serving as a link between consumers, government, and businesses (activities other than above)

Interacting with government, consumer organizations, and external organizations

Annual exchange meetings with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s consumer advice office

From time to time, ACAP engages in an exchange of opinions with government agencies and other organizations, including the Consumer Affairs Agency, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the National Consumer Affairs Center, the Japan Association of Consumer Affairs Specialists, the Nippon Association of Consumer Specialists, the Kansai Consumers Association, the Japan Association for HEIB and Consumer Affairs Professionals in Business, and the Japan Advertising Review Organization.

Dispatching members to other committees, advisory councils, etc.

As consumer-affairs specialists, ACAP dispatches members to various organizations, including the Cabinet Office Special Committee on Consumer Issues, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries working group on disclosure of product information by food product companies, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government consumer affairs council, and the Japanese Standards Association quality management system international standards committee.

International exchange

OCAP-ACAP held, welcoming a group of researchers from South Korea

ACAP engages in periodic exchange with OCAP, an organization made up of the managers and staff of consumer correspondence sections at South Korean businesses. It is a member of SOCAP International, an organization in which the United States, the European Union, and other jurisdictions participate.

Communicating information

Through various forums, including the bulletin Forum, its website, news releases, and contributions to outside media organizations, ACAP strives to communicate information to the general public and businesses.
