ACAP Statement 2010
Striving for coexistence between consumers and businesses
The sections of various businesses involved in consumer interactions constitute the cornerstones on which relationships of trust between consumers and businesses are based. These sections are charged with the mission of consumer-oriented management.
Keenly aware of our roles and responsibilities as an organization of consumer-oriented businesses, the Association of Consumer Affairs Professionals (ACAP) hereby declares the following:
- We will strive to increase consumer satisfaction by responding fairly and in good faith to consumer consultations and complaints.
- We will strive to improve the quality of products, services, and other business activities by communicating the voices of consumers to top management and other related sections within companies.
- We will support consumer independence by communicating broadly to society information useful for raising consumer awareness.
- We will ascertain the accuracy of information on issues related to the consumer society and advise top management and other related sections within companies to give them the information needed to meet consumer expectations and fulfill consumer trust.
- Recognizing relationships of trust between consumers and businesses as the foundations of economic and social development, we will devote ourselves to shaping business management strategies to build a consumer-oriented civil society.
